Our Distillation Journey

After reviewing the market for products that could provide traceability and provenance from grain to glass, whilst also managing the financial complexities of whisky making and maturation and ensuring over-delivery on customer expectations they found various systems that could do certain pieces of the puzzle but none that brought it all together – and so the concept for MasterDistiller was born.

Led by experienced tech entrepreneur Bill Dobbie the Isle of Raasay Distillery team and MasterDistiller team worked hand in hand to develop the features and functions needed to run the distillery and more, grounded on the open source Odoo ERP platform.

But we weren’t ones for stopping there once it was implemented – we’ve been tirelessly improving the system year on year for both existing and new clients and are steadily building a community of entrepreneurial and innovative distillers to collaborate with in the years to come. Since its launch with Isle of Raasay Distillery MasterDistiller has been adopted by a variety of well known industry names ranging from independent bottlers to e-commerce platforms to distilleries across the globe producing a variety of spirits at scale.
